Inspiration

I think I need to watch this every morning to get the inspiration I need to teach my students, and to remember how I wish to interact with others that I come into contact with each day!

Keep Calm and . . .

I've always liked this sign:

Wikipedia says about the original poster:
Keep Calm and Carry On was a poster produced by the
British government in 1939 during the beginning of World War II, intended to raise the morale of the British public under the threat of impending invasion. It was little known and never used. The poster was rediscovered in 2000 and has been re-issued by a number of private sector companies, and used as the decorative theme for a range of other products. There are only two known surviving examples of the poster outside of government archives.

The Keep Calm and Carry On website shows this about its history:
Keep Calm and Carry On History

I started to look around the Internet for other sayings, and did I find a lot!
Thought I'd share a few here.

I like this one, which basically states
the opposite of
Keep Calm and Carry On . . .

Of course, being a fan of coffee
(can't start my day without it),
I really like this one . . .

I know some people who need this
one posted close to them
(though I won't name names)  . . .

Being a teacher, this one makes me smile . . .

I personally never watched 'Sex and the City"
but I loved the play on words
that this one has . . .

Speaking of a play on words,
this one made me laugh out loud . . .

Yes, this is another one that some
people I know could post . . .

A political one . . .

A few more . . .

And the one to end this blog entry:

Have a happy and calm rest of the week!  : )

How quickly a week's vacation can fly by!!

Spent most of it relaxing,
in my jammies ---
---starting the day off right, around 9:30 :)
with my cup of coffee,

then working on getting my scrapbooking 'stuff' put away from my recent crop,

and organizing my zillions of pictures that seem to keep growing in number,
even though I scrapbook so many of them,

and getting other areas organized and back in order,
such as putting away my Valentine's decorations ---

and other 'decluttering'

and even found some time for reading
(
although my stack still seems to continue to grow . . .
so much to read, so little time).

But now, reality is setting in . . .

. . . as I realize the 5:15 AM alarm will be starting again
in 2 days.  And I'll have to get in some "real" clothes
and be able to speak in coherent sentences all day
and teach those 36 students of mine all they need to know
before they move on to middle school.

It's been a great week of being able to kick back and relax.
Time to get ready for reality.

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!

Good Stuff!

Becky Higgins wrote a great post titled '7 ways to increase charity' (in our lives).  Her list:

1.  Tell someone.
2.  Kick gossip to the curb.
3.  Recognize your blessings.
4.  Cultivate the potential in others.
5.  Study.
6.  Don't judge.
7.  Stop.

Read the entire post at Becky Higgins blog.

It's good stuff!

Sleep

I like sleep.  I crave sleep.  I don't do well without it.
Like many people, I don't seem to get enough of it.
Lee at the Linar Studio has a great post about sleep ---
and how to get more of it!
(Sleep is on Lee's DO list for 2011).   :-)

Off scrapping

I'm off to DO some scrapping for the next two days.
Two days.
In a hotel meeting room.
Surrounded by fellow scrappers, snacks, water, ideas, lots of coffee and occasional trips to the scrapbook store (as if we don't
 have enough supplies already!!)
Two long days (8 AM to 2 AM) . . . time to scrap.
I'll be working on my Project Life book from 2010 (mostly journaling).
I'll be starting my Project Life book for this year (although I'm going to do it differently this year).
I'll be finishing my December Daily book (although for 2010, I didn't really do it 'daily,' just those December days that had big events or
something to document).
I'll be scrapping pictures from Dave's birthday when I surprised him and took the day off of work to take him out for lunch, wine tasting,
and an exciting trip to a cheese-making factory (not!)  But it did make for a great memory!
I even have some pictures of my students that I need to put onto cardstock for their end-of-the-year-book of memories that I might work on . . . or may not, depending on time and whether or not I want to work on them or just focus on my own personal scrapping.
Whatever I decide, I'm super excited to have two days set aside.
For scrapping.
Yeah!
Bring on the coffee!
